Wellness: Therapeutic Hypnosis

July 30, 2014, 2:00 PM

80 Union St., Rockland

Psychotherapist Gary Chapin will give a talk on Therapeutic Hypnosis and its wide range of applications from sports psychology and medicine to treatment for trauma and personal growth.

Therapeutic Hypnosis is one of the most effective ways used today to balance the life forces of your mind, body, and spirit. "Therapeutic Hypnosis is efficient and elegant", said Chapin. In addition to simply improving symptoms or difficulties, or completely eliminating them, it can also be used to explore imagination, creativity, and consciousness. Those in attendance will be offered instructions for learning self hypnosis and to create, through therapeutic imagery, a personalized set of tools for behavioral change and well being. The presentation will feature tranquil music, creative visualization techniques, and ethereal trance.

Chapin’s areas of practice include specializations in the treatment of psychological trauma, life threatening illnesses, depression, anxiety, insomnia, and pain. He has also served in the public sector as a clinical consultant for the State of Connecticut conducting training for health care professionals including crises intervention therapists, trauma workers, and child protection teams in therapeutic and social services settings. For more information about his work, please visit his website at GaryChapin.com

This is the first event in a series of wellness programs, which will take place the last Wednesday of each month, co-sponsored by the Library and the Pen Bay Chamber of Commerce.
